Hello, first time poster......

I have recently acquired an Astor R52G-A circa 1966 I believe. The radio is working, turntable no and the TV cactus!

I would like to keep it as its a nice piece but no time or know how to restore.

What is it worth? Any ideas ? And where would be the best place to sell it.

Thanks
Phil

The historical value is higher than the amount you'd receive if you sold it. There are a few collectors that specialise in collecting televisions though space is usually a paramount consideration and this is the main reason that these items rarely sell well.

You are in a capital city so someone may well be able to restore it for you if you can afford to have this done. If you like the receiver a lot, I'd recommend hanging on to it. Spare parts are available for it and can be located by scrounging (sometimes people do reply to requests for spares and servicing in this forum).

Repairers such as Resurrection Radio can put you on to someone if they aren't able to assist.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...
