Always looking for these radios, or parts or speakers.

Coliseum Antiques in Mayfield, NSW has an AWA Radiola C47 going but not cheap, not cheap at all. I am sure it was over $1,000, so probably still there.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

Cheers, bit pricey!

I have found if I get 2 smallish radios at the right price in USA Post will be about US$125 for both.

Considering you can pick up a couple of radios at between about $70 - $125, works out not too bad.

I do have a King made by the Buffalo Radio Company (USA) which is surplus to my needs, though it is only the timber cabinet plus a jar full of parts. I think it has the breadboard inside but I don't remember. It would go for $200 plus postage if anyone wanted it as the cabinet is in very good condition for its age. The cabinet is timber except the front panel, which is a matching woodgrain marviplate. All the front panel controls and the tuning dial are also intact.

If you are interested I will go over to my storage unit sometime through the week and take some photos.

Coliseum Antiques in Mayfield, NSW has a wall full of radios and all are grossly over priced, but I have seen non radio people buy from him and I snigger to myself as they hand over the cash. My brother lives in Mayfield and we go there just to browse.

He is a bit pricey. I bought a Philips radio off him about 18 months ago and had to haggle a bit for a good deal. He didn't seem keen though and was probably wishing I was somewhere else at the time. I pity the person who has to keep them all dusted, they'd need a small boom lift to do that in a day.

Yep, the 'wall' is about three times the size of what is shown in the first photo. The second photo shows most of it. The C47 is at the lower right, out of both photos.

Apart from the C47, the Healing 'Scales', the blue Astor Mickey and a Little General, most of the radios are uninspiring 50s models.

My Igranic 6 valve superhet will be available for sale in a couple of years time as that is the timetable to see my collection go to new homes.
To spark your interest, it will come with its original frame antenna and a photocopy of the construction and operation manual. It is a 1926 radio.

Harold.
