As per the subject, I desperately need at least two but possibly four control knobs for a black AWA R52 Radiola.

A photo is here. I am happy to pay a reasonable price.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

I've got one black one, the one on the right hand end with the extra bit on the end that you can have. If you happen to have a brown one of those I'll swap you.

G'day Scraps, no browns here unfortunately.

For some reason neither of mine has that directional knob, just four standard ones. I have a pristine one which I bought last year though I got another one last night at a rather low price for that model as I plan to restore it and then put it back on the market.

You can see the latter radio here.

It needs a full resto and I've already ordered a new dial cover for it. I also have a badge for it somewhere.

No luck here, but Steve Savell just bought 700 knobs. He might have some.

I plugged it in, a light goes on and I got a loud humming noise and some static.

Not terribly surprising. He might have made some loud humming noises too if it had gone bang!

It looks like a very nice radio at a good price. I don't know if the pictured directional switch is original for the radio in post #1. I've see them used on the side of the AWA 7 banders for the wave change switch but they are brown (which is what I need) I grabbed this one at the last HRSA meeting in Sydney and didn't realise it was black til I got home.

Yeah, in many cases brown can look black in poor light. To make matters worse, there is brown and brown. I've seen AWA knobs for the Fret and Foot models in at least two shades of brown with both knobs in good order with the original glossy shine. The same knob was used on some of their consoles. Are you in a position to simply sell the knob? I will pay anything fairly reasonable plus postage.

RedXM, I am about to buy something else off Steve so I will ask him about the knobs when I pay him for the other item.

You can have it for the price of postage, send me an email with your address and I'll post it on Monday morning.

Just to keep anyone who is interested up to date, I will still need at least one more knob.
