I am after a good speaker grille for an AWA 528MA. These speaker grilles are very susceptible to heat and warp very easily. The rest of the Brown Bakelite radio is perfect.
See here for this model:

Those grilles are incredibly hard to find in good condition. I have a white and brown 528MA both with reasonably good grilles and a third maroon one with no grill. I've occasionally looked at them and wondered how hard it would be to cast a new one and decided its probably way beyond my skills. For a price, there are plastics manufacturers around that could make these up but for a one off I'm sure the price would be frightening.

I heard about a year ago that someone was making replicas but I don't remember who. The discussion about it may have been here. A search may bring a result.

The grille on mine is better than most but still warped. I've only ever seen one in my life that was both original and straight and that was about six years ago.

Sounds like a job for 3D printing.

I reckon 3D printing will one day spell the end of the toolmaker although is current technology suitable for the finish one would expect of a speaker grille? Most of the 3D printing I've seen so far has resulted in the 'product' being fairly rough and requiring further work to smooth out the edges and so forth.

If someone had a near prefect one, you could make a silicon mould and resin cast many.
When I get to mine I may try re-settling with a heat gun.
