They are 115mm high, 40mm deep and 35mm wide.
There are top and bottom covers which fit over each end and the lip on the cover is 3mm.
There is a 100mm long, 5mm in dia., tin plate tube soldered to the centre of 40mm right side.
The left side has an asbestos insulator fastened to it. I'll send a picture to Brad.

If you could email me a picture and any sketches that would help, I'll draw it up in CAD ready for the fabricators along with the samples for my project.

Well I have built my own. I am not the worlds best Tinsmith and I think it should look OK once I find the correct paint to match the AWA blue.
What do you think?
Here is the drawing.

Hi
That will look the part, Just file down the solder a bit to neaten it up. You can get needle files that are good for this purpose. Don't forget to prime the can before painting..... You will need to get rid of all the Flux.

Well done!
If it had been me there would have been hammer marks on it somewhere!
Good to see someone actually making something, now you can make a whole set from scratch!!!
Cheers, Fred.

Gary. Do you have a paint colour for what you used, or is it a custom mix.
I tried an off the shelf colour, but its not quite right. A little too bright.

I tried to get it computer matched but they require a piece 120mm square.
So we matched it by eye. I have two Empire States and the blue colour is different between the two.
I found the best solution was after the undercoat, paint it silver. Then slowly build up the metallic blue till it matches the valve cover blue. If you apply too much it comes out too dark.
I bought the paint here;
http://autopower.com.au/index.php
It is called Blue Met, Metallic Variant: No 1, Dulon BCM, Colour Ref: CAJ1B
