Hi all,

I found a 1965 HMV "Windsor 25" console television, which is in need of a new speaker grille. The material is unusual, though I have seen it on other televisions and stereo-grams of the era. Does anyone know where I can get some? I tried EBay, hoping that some people may use similar material for guitar amplifiers/speaker cabinets, but the search resulted in very little.

I need a piece of this material approx. 250x750mm.

Photos pending

Antique Electronic Supply in the US has a range of speaker grille material.

This lady will try and replicate grill cloth sent to her, but is expensive and has a big backlog.

Yikes! I saw some suitable fabrics, but then I looked at the prices! I'll see if I can find something a little cheaper first.

Do not overlook awning material. some of this is coarse enough for speakers, can look quite attractive and comes in a few different colours. Bugs won't eat it and it can stand heat and some does not rot & is rigid enough to not crease.

I used this in a roller Tasma 1103 that I major overhauled recently (Photo available).

Further to Corrien Maas; it appears that she is only able to do regular pattern cloth. I asked her if she could make the cloth shown here but no go; could only make something approximating it.

"I can try to weave the cloth not exactly the same but I can try "to find the sphere". "
