I have a disk with a lot of circuits but it does not have this one.
I am also after a 6 volt globe a LARGE Type with a Bayonet fitting single pin for a Astor JJ or a Monarch DKJ I think they are 3 watt if anyone has one in Melbourne I can pick up or if interstate I will pay for the postage and globe.
Thank you in advance

Sounds like an automotive type & it's been monkeyed with?

Both JJ's I have serviced (one mine) have Edison screw?

Would you mind posting pics if possible Georgeandmargaret?
I have 602, and would like to see any differences between the two.
Can reciprocate with chassis close up if you're also interested.

I'd love to see what that cabinet looks like too!
Cheers, Brek.

Photo of the radio uploaded.

I've seen a few radios in the past with bayonet lamps, the cap is about the same size as the MES ones. I'd say most radios have MES lamps though.

How large is large George?
Is the globe part any larger than the glass part of a normal radio bulb?
It doesn't look that way to me.

3 Watts divided by 6.3 Volts is 0.476 Amps,
and these are marked 6 Volt, 0.48 Amps.
Size is all a matter of perspective isn't it?

Could you send your post address to the same email please?

Still thinking automotive. Those are about the same size as the ones in my 1958 Utes dash catch 22 its 12V.

I do have some Vintage 6V automotive globes.

Size is not in this case perspective: Its what fits in the globe holder. Measuring it's diameter may be a lot less abstract.

Now these I got as a job lot & some are used. 6V 3 Watt various brands, definitely automotive. I have about 10 but I have not checked any of them.

Metal Base 15mm dia metal body length 16mm, would be amazed if there are not a few old automotive electrical, garages (like RACV) & vintage car suppliers in Melb. that have not got some. They tended to be phased out as by the fifties 6V was disappearing in automotive use.

The source of the box wasn't an automotive tech though.
They had to be in radios or at least TVs in Australia.

I mean when George calls it LARGE, it depends what it's being compared to.
The ones I have are no larger than the usual radio dial face globes.

These lamps are still used in roadworks hazard lights so they should be easy to get.

The reason I posted dimensions of the metal part, was to stop the debate on the abstracts of size.

We need the measurements, or a globe number & brand.
