I will give some of them heart attacks and get kicked out.

Not necessarily. If you don't attend meetings, and such, then nobody's going to know you exist. However if you did turn up at meetings with (say) a digital something grafted onto a valve something, then you may not find too many people interested. No surprise there.

For me membership is both a social thing and a learning opportunity. I'm always happy to chat to men who worked in the industry back in the day. Their stories interest me.

The AWA Centenary celebration was a fantastic event.

It's a bit common sense

I'd say it's a lot common sense. If you are interested in restoring vintage equipment then that's what you do. If you're interested in pulling it apart and morphing it into something else, then obviously restoration is not your thing. Same with cars.

Do you remember how much Brad, and was it nice?

The next digital thing to connect to a valve thing is to train something to a threshold voltage when a station is tuned, but without the real magic eye mod.

From memory it was around $160 which seems reasonable.

Just so you know, Paringa is close to Renmark and both are close to the SA/VIC border.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

Bummer, I just assumed SE Qld area since it's a Brisbane company.
Otherwise for that price I'd be in.

This one came back ok, and I have the matched pair of 6V6 to put in it now.
Only problem is the new universal (Hammond) audio transformer doesn't fit
under the chassis where the original did fit.

This is Music Masters Mendelssohn (at the front) and Beethoven at the back (1951 & 52).
There's no difference in the chassis other than the extra holes punched out for the extra valves.

I never got cabinets for these two.
