I have seen a few comments of late that do not meet the requirements for posting in the Wanted and For Sale forum.

I've decided to allow any comments that breach current requirements to stand. In future, however, any posting that does not conform to the extract quoted below from the Acceptable Use Policy will be edited or deleted as necessary.

3. Posts offering goods for sale shall state the type of goods, the brand (if known), the approximate age of the goods, the condition the goods are in, whether the goods are operable or not and the post must either contain prices for the goods and a price for packing and postage or a link to a webpage containing this pricing information or a request for other members to make an offer for the goods. The operating voltage, required mains frequency and whether the goods operate on alternating current (AC), direct current (DC) or both shall also be stated in the post.

In particular I draw members' attention to stating prices for goods for sale. A price for what you are selling must be included in your post. The only exception to this are those listed in the quoted extract above.

I will ask that before any member posts new threads in this forum they should read the AUP and familiarise themselves with what is required. I think it is worth reminding everyone that this website is far more liberal than most when it comes to these types of postings, including the fact that you are allowed to advertise any relevant commercial operations and auction listings here as well. Most discussion forums completely disallow these.

In regards to For Sale items, would it be possible to present a form that the seller fills out?

I've been thinking about something similar recently to add "Wanted:" or "For Sale:" as a prefix to the subject headings but this could be expanded to include other things. As I write this I am working on a new site template but before I can roll that out I also have to apply the same 'style' to the forums and because of this it means a re-write of the half dozen or so physical pages that are used to display all parts of the forums. Any necessary changes could be made at the time the pages are rewritten.

I've got 199 springs from Jaycar to sell you, make me an offer Grin

Seriously a form is reasonable, some forums have them.
Some have temporary bans or thread deletions in the buy/sell sections.
Some allow auctions where a reserve and instant price
are defined, as well as an end date if the reserve is met,
but not the instant sell price. Gets a bit complicated there.
