Looking for a schematic for unusual Swiss radio (uses 7S7 convertor). Front end not working, poor accessibility due to SW band switching.

There is a reference to this radio here.

I see link says it's from around 1948 and being Swiss, no postwar material shortages!

Have Local Osc running but nothing through I.F. Cannot sub signals due to unusual 470kc I.F. Am interested to hear how this deluxe receiver sounds.

Has inbuilt vibrator for 6v operation (at the beach connected to Volkswagon?)

Wonder what is the feature on this set that tunes a separate dial pointer on a 0 to 160 linear scale while alternating moving slugs in Antenna & Oscillator coil formers?

Comparing the valve line-up of other Paillard models from that era indicates that this is an unusual radio indeed. None of the other models uses a remote cut-off R.F. pentode with twin diodes as a converter. Nor do do any of the others have a push-pull output ( I'm guessing the 2 6G6 valves are in push pull mode) Is the vibrator power supply an original feature? I think the "Z" in the model number may indicate a export model.

EDIT:

Disregard some of my previous post. I was at work when I wrote it. I got the 7R7 and 7S7 mixed up. The 7S7 converter being a triode/heptode means it is not an unusual set up at all. You could check the Radiomuseum site for Paillard models with similar valve line-ups, especially those with 6J8G and ECH** converters types.

Also here below is a link to a French site. You might even be able to get some circuits from here as well.

Vibrator is spring mounted (Swiss fine mechanics) in P.S.U. Audio Output is push pull. Found simpler Paillard circuit using 7S7 + 7R7 on google images which gives a fair guide as circuit similar but less deluxe. Found another 7R7 in my collection. Reconditioned an old AM Signal Generator to give 470kc I.F. signal (picture) (note freq on counter)
