I'm looking for a working black and white console to use in my collection to put some other TV sets on top of it to display the prized televisions of my collection, before my HMV Trent gets finished and if you have one in the East Maitland/Cessnock areas or know someone who has one contact me via email

Nathan, I'll keep an eye out at the local dumps and Tender Centres. I don't usually find much other than the usual vintage 14" colour portables (though I'm not complaining!).

Chris

There's four large tellys available at the junk shop in Lucknow, NSW. They aren't free though. All are AWA and Westinghouse.

It would be a nice find! Four black and white TVs! I'd restore them one by one and probably have them running!

Lucknow's a fair drive from where you are though. It'd be a good day out.

As far as I can remember, varying between $200 and $400 each. Claimed as "goers" but I'd take that with a grain of salt, especially with analogue transmitters dropping like flies at the moment there'll soon be no practical way to test a telly on a stand alone basis and television collectors will need to generate an RF signal with a video sender (if one can be bought that transmits on VHF) or some other method will have to be devised.

Nathan, why don't you send them an email or phone them? I had a quick look, and from memory, they have a website or Facebook page.

Chris
