Hi all,

I have found a great portable television (similar to a set I have been after since I started collecting) for sale in Sydney, but am unable to purchase it because I have no means to get it home. The seller isn't willing to courier it either, which complicates things.

Is there anybody passing through the Sydney/Penrith area, and subsequently passing through Port Macquarie/Wauchope, who would be willing to pick this up on the way?

I will provide the money for the set (only $30) when we meet, as well as some additional money for fuel.

Cheers,

Chris

What if you initiate the courier pickup from your end?

I've done this many times when I've purchased stuff from country sellers. All the seller has to do is pack it properly, let you know the dimensions and weight. You book the pickup and pay for it, and the courier does the rest.

I use Pack & Send.

Hi Chris,

I usually go to Penrith every week or so. I could pick it up for you and package it and then work out what to do from there. If it's too big for Aust Post there's a Pack and Send depot in Penrith as well. It might take a few weeks to get it all sorted though. I haven't been up your way in years.

Cheers,

Warren

Warren, the set is in Carringbah, which I have been told is in the Sydney/Penrith area. I'm not familiar with the Sydney region though. Is Carringbah too far out of the way?

I have found a website that offers dirt-cheap courier services. Depot-depot (Sydney - Port Macquarie) shipment would cost around $11 for this set.

By the way, thank you for your offer on this Warren!

Best regards,

Chris

Wow, there's a long, long way between Caringbah and Penrith. Penrith is about as far West as Sydney goes and Caringbah is about as far South as it goes. Probably less than 50 km but depending on traffic about 1-1 1/2 hours past Penrith for me. Penrith is fine but Caringbah is further than I go for holidays Smile

Double check where the TV's located. It'd be a shame to miss out on it.

Cheers,

Warren

Hi Warren,

I've found someone in the area who is going down that way, so fingers crossed. It is a great set (a B&W 12" Rank Arena portable, in a woodgrain case, which is similar to a set I have been after for ages). Fingers crossed!
