This has been in my family for years, and it's time it went to someone who will truly appreciate it.

1957 Pye tecnico television set.

Doesn't work, but is in excellent condition. Perfect for someone to restore. All knobs seem to be in working order. Power cord attached. Wooden case and legs in great condition.

All internal workings still there - it's never been touched!

$400 (or make an offer)

Located in Brunswick, Victoria. Pick up only. It's VERY heavy!

Pye Tecnico Television

Off topic, but why do all the good tellies end up in Victoria!? All the good B&W portables and consoles on EBay are in Victoria (usually Melbourne/surrounding suburbs).

I swear that you Victorians are reproducing vintage television sets and selling them as originals! :-P

Chris

Hi Chris most of the radio and TV factories were in Melbourne that's why all the good stuff is down there lol.

Nope, most of the factories (and a wider range of brands) were made in Sydney and not just with complete radios but the parts used to assemble them.

Victorians just did a better job of hanging onto things though. The same applies to radios.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

Can't speak for TVs, but there are still plenty of old radios in QLD compared with NSW, and I suspect at least some of that is the result of the mass exodus of NSW residents to QLD a decade or so ago.

Sorry I'm so far away Chris! Sad

Just wanted to ask anyone's advice tho. Is $400 a fair price for this TV? Not really sure what is reasonable (as I haven't seen many of these particular TV's for sale online. Particularly in this condition)
Am I asking too much? Too little?
