Tomorrow night I will post links to about 15 radios I want to sell. These are mostly for parts or restoration.

When you said you're having a clean-out, you really meant it.

Knowing how much you like AWA's, I'm looking forward to seeing what's posted. I'm still after a 516M and a case for a 500M.

I have four cases for 500/516s. Unfortunately they are all cracked though the white one is probably in the best condition.

I was going to use them all to practice repairing Bakelite on at one stage however time never allowed it. No 500/516 radios up for sale however.

I sold a white and a burgundy A13B a while back. I've never even seen a photo of one in speckled blue though I know they were made in that and speckled green too.

When you do find one you can probably expect to pay a small fortune for it.

Due to my day being stuffed up I will be uploading the radios I want to sell tomorrow night. I should have links to the auctions posted here by this time as I want them to finish at around 20:30.

Hi Brad,

I have this one here, but there is the lower bar thats missing as you can see and also a crack not shown, on the left rear part of the front face.

HMV Little Nipper A13B

After hundreds of hours fixing the crack, I am currently working on how to do the front bar....at least it has the original knobs to it....and it works.

Do you have any idea of what one of these would be worth?..........a good one that is.

Marc

I reckon up to $500.00 in good nick with no cracks. There's at least three versions of this cabinet too: one with no vertical bars on the grill, one with two vertical bars and one with five (I think) vertical bars. I think with version with two vertical bars is the rarest.

Replacing that horizontal bar would be a big challenge.

In craft shops you can get a kind of plasticised modelling clay that hardens when baked in an oven at moderate temperature. White would be best to work with.

You could try moulding some of that around a thin rod or stiff wire, shaping it as best as possible, then baking it, shaping/sanding further, painting and finally araldite into place.

For the mottled colours, I would reckon on experimenting on left-over material to get a light wash to match the base colour (off-white, it seems), and then spatter the blue after the base colour had dried.

As I said - a fair challenge!
