This is a preliminary notice of my desire to dispose of some radios and TV's.
I've managed over the years to aquire quite a bit of stuff that I was intending to restore. Now I need a bit more space and have to let go of a few things. Whilst there are no valuable treasures amongst these things someone may be interested. Most of these radios & TV's are not working and are physically in fair condition. If there is some interest in any of these articles I'll ask if Brad can post some pictures. Also I cannot post any of these articles so it would be pick-up only in the Melbourne area (Footscray).

There are 5 TV's: Philips 23" on legs from the early '60's; AWA 23" lowboy from about 1970 - both are all valve; Pye portable in wooden case, solid-state, late '60's; a Philips hybrid portable from the late '60's and a retro looking 21" 1975 Thorn Colour TV, working and in pristine condition. None of the B/W TV's are working and the 23" Philips & Pye portable have some minor cosmetic issues. These TV's could be restored or used for parts and all are free to a good home.

The radios include a Decca console looking Radio-gram; a 1938 Fisk Radiola console, almost complete; a Grundig table-radio, missing its back; a Polish AC/DC wooden mantle; a Ecko AC/DC wooden mantle, missing its back; a Nordmende wooden table-radio; a Murphy wooden table-radio, veneer a bit tatty and a German Pioneer Table-set. Most of these valve English & European radios have FM. These radios are mostly not working & I'm willing to let them go at a very reasonable price (your offer). I also have a couple of Japanese 6BM8 stereo amps none of which are working. There might be a couple of others thing too that I have forgotten to mention.

Sansui Radio
Home Brew Radio
Imperial Radio
Polish Radio
Murphy Radio

If there is any interest let me know and we'll get the ball rolling.

Cheers.

Hey Monochrome, are you or any friends heading up north? I've been after an old telly to work on, and I'm interested in some of the portables. Problem is, I live in Port Macquarie. I am currently staying in Canberra with my dad over the holidays though.

Would you be able to email me some photos please?

Cheers,

Chris

No such luck. I wont be doing any travelling for a while. But I can send you some pics though. I'll let you know when I'm done.

Cheers.

Hi Chris,
I've asked Brad if he could upload a couple of pictures of the portable TV's. I may even have circuits for them. None of them work and the Philips I think has a horizontal output issue (possibly a blown power transistor). Also, how long will you be in Canberra? Don't hold your breath, but a mate of mine, a travelling salesman, visits Canberra from time to time. He may be there in a couple of weeks but is not sure yet.

Cheers.

Philips Twelve
Pye Twelve

Thank you Brad and Monochrome!
I'll have to check when I leave, but I think it's in about a week. Dang.

Cheers,

Chris

Doneskies.

Chris, it looks like your avatar has gone walkabout. If you e-mail a copy of it to me I can host it for you here.

Hi Brad,

Thank you for posting the photos, and for offering to fix my avatar. I've just sent you an email with the image.

Am I right in guessing that the Philips is 12" or 13.5"? How big is the PYE? When you say the Philips is Hybrid, do you mean it uses transistors and valves? I've always wanted a set that uses valves, and that Philips looks awesome! I love old 60's and 70's sets, but I haven't seen anything bigger than a portable that looks like that! Pretty neat!

Monochrome, when you say the set has horizontal output issues, do you mean the Philips hybrid or the 23" Philips?

Cheers,

Chris

Hi
Both tellys are 12". And yes, hybrid means both valves & solid-state. It is the 12" Philips that has horizontal output issues.
Cheers.

Greetings,
I would be interested in the FM radio's. Unhide your email address and send me a message.

Thanks.

All 5 of them if no one else has claimed them. If Chris is serious about the portables I'm happy for him to have them.

May also be interested in a radio or two but would rather wait until I pick up the TV's so that I can see what is on offer.

Thanks.
