Hi, I have bought an Astor Mickey DL and unfortunately for me the case was smashed beyond any kind of repair in the post .... Shame shame shame.
It is a shortwave model with the control knob on the back.
The chassis and dial are still intact so I am very very keen to buy a DL case (with the speaker on the side.)
I hope someone out there has one that they would sell.

Regards
Paul

Sorry to hear that your set was smashed beyond repair. I hope somebody comes up with a case for you.

Whoever mailed you that set must be completely naive to the fact that Australia Post van drivers treat all packages as footballs.

I've had a few radios posted to be from around Oz and each time I've specified heaps of foam packing and double boxing with foam in between and duct tape for sealing to thwart AP's attempts to smash the contents. So far, so good.

If that was an eBay purchase I'd slam the sender for poor packaging.

Hi, Yeah thanks for the sympathy ........ Hopefully someone can help me out with a case.

I agree with double box and plenty of bubble wrap / foam.
I also completely clear tape the whole box to strengthen and waterproof ..... For a $1.50 of tape it's worth it.

There is a happy ending to this sad story ..... Within one hour of unpacking the smashed up Mickey the seller deposited the full amount into my bank account.

No one can complain about that !!!

BUT IT'S STILL A DAMN SHAME ABOUT THE RADIO !

Regards

Mickeyman

PS . Can someone please put me out of my misery and sell me a DL case.

Very decent of the seller to do that. A costly lesson for them.
