I have been asked by a collector to be on the lookout for a jade coloured Cub for sale of the style shown in this picture:

So, please let me know if there's one out there.

I've got one that isn't plain jade but mottled in a similar pattern to the pinkie above. Unfortunately it is not for sale for sentimental reasons.

Mine has a hairline crack part-way through the top though. It could be discreetly repaired but it'd take some doing. Mottled bakelite is almost always structurally unstable and needs extra care when the receiver is being lifted.

With a lot of plastic sets now, and Bakelite. Never ever (if it is possible) Place a hand inside and top lift it., that is a recipe for disaster.

Yes, it's all too tempting. I haven't broken a set myself as I try not to do this though I've bought too many sets that have had this done to them. It makes me wonder how the Americans get on with their Emersons and Fadas - they have carry handles located right where many of our fingers end up.

Re the airzone cub, I have a pink one in good working condition for sale, no damage to the bakelite

Thanks Ralph, but the collector in question has the whole set except for the jade one.
