Hi there - I am new to this site! Hope someone can advise.

My husband recently bought a vintage record player and the seller also just gave us this black and white TV as she was going to throw it out! I thought there would be some collector out there who would like to give it a home.

I am planning to list it on Ebay but found your site through googling, so thought I would offer it here if anyone is a keen AWA collector.

It is a cute black and white TV - AWA model P5Y. Not sure how old but I would estimate 1960's? Maybe someone else would know its age? I can get sound for a few channels but only grey and white fuzz for the picture. It is in good condition with small name engraved on back.

Is this worth selling? Can anyone estimate a value? Or would anyone like to buy it? Make me an offer!! I am in Gladesville, Sydney.

Thanks, Jo.

PS - Can you post pics on this site? Or just give me your email address and I will email some pics.

You can post links to pics on a file sharing host such as Photobucket, or email them to Brad (the site owner) whose addy is in his member profile.

(AWA P5Y rings a bell with me. I bought 2 small AWA B&W sets in the early 1970s. They had blue plastic cabinets with grey tube surrounds.)

The P5 models are from around the 1969-1972 period.
They are quite stylish little sets and seem popular as a collectable. Like everything, value is arbitrary and depends on the potential buyers at the time. I have seen these little sets sell for between $20 and $80.
