Ahhh... Doh!

Hi guys.

After s somewhat foolish move from me, I am chasing some replacement parts for my University TST valve tester.

The parts that I am after are the Meter from the front, and if possible a rectifier for the AC part of meter section (Not the main Valve Rect) I think it is a selenium? Spelling.

The rect has been stuffed for a long time, but I dropped a chassis and it had to land on the meter smashing not only the glass but destroying the movement!

I hope some one can help me.

Valve radios, They just don't make them like they used to

The rectifier, with efficiency compensation, is better off being replaced by a diode / diodes.

What breed of meter & how bad .. Master Instruments were still going a few years back.

Dan,

I think my junk box contains an old Valve Tester meter. From memory, it is circular in shape, with green and red segments on it for 'Good' and 'Bad'. However, I am about 2 weeks from getting back home. I will find it, take a couple of photos and send to you, with any other details I can find.

Drop me an reminder email in 3 weeks if I have forgotten.

Cheers,
Ian

Sounds good.

My meter is Square and has ohm / volts / amps / capacitance / and valve condition.

Hi Dan,

Unfortunately, I cannot find the old (valve tester???) meter ..... may have been thrown out during my last cleanup .... or put somewhere 'too' safe!!
