I need to do a reproduction of the licence sticker on my Tasma 1005. The original sticker was scratched beyond readability and much had fallen off, along with the paint!

As the rest of the receiver has been restored to factory condition over the past 12 months, I now need a clear photo or reproduction of the licence label to make a repro from.

The sticker was a blue (1946) one, but anything similar will do - I can make one if I see one.

If anyone can help, I will be most appreciative =]

Regards,

Jon Point

Hello Jonpoint

I have emailed you a photo of a sticker (see also http://vintage-radio.com.au/default.asp?f=2&th=122). Supposed to be pale blue but looks like beige. Must be faded. But at least you have the layout.
According to HRSA 1942-1946 should be pale blue (prefix H) or dark green with red letters (T) 1946-1952 .

There are available inkjet and laser papers that can be applied like a transfer, but I haven't tried them. Is this the way you are going to make your sticker?

Testors make decal sheets for inkjet printing. Before using the transfer you spray it with clear varnish to fix the ink. The results are good, just very slightly fuzzier than a properly printed transfer.

I have a Samsung colour laser printer (CLX-266). However I have been unable to get Samsung to approve paper such as in the following link.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/5-Clear-water-Slide-Decal-PAPER-Transfers-LASER-/370402167379?pt=AU_Candle_Soap_Making&hash=item563db08a53.

With two kids in the final years of high school and needing the printer for their assignments I don't want to wreck the drum (~$200) for the sake of a transfer.

I think the laser print would be more water and heat resistant and colour fast than bubble jet. Would be interested to know if anyone has tried this.
