Looking for inf on above. It is likely a re-badged Igranic (Bedford) as that is what the majority of parts in it are.

Seyon is Noyes backwards & Noyes Bro's were the agents.

Two valve regen.
First valve Philips A425 (not what we have in it)
Audio Philips A409

V1 60 to 90V
V2 90 to 135V
Filaments 4VDC

"C" bias 4.5V (Yale 117) original was still in it, warranty expired 12/27 and it still has 2.3V.

"C" battery replaced & grid leak repaired. Runs reasonably well from a regulated power supply I made, with 45V on V1 & 100V on V2 (fixed voltages)

Was pulling in 2WG (Wagga Wagga) from Wangaratta reasonably well at 3pm EAST.

Reasonable volume from an N&K (Germany) Shell dome speaker.

No information on that set, however trawling around I see that a set with a similar description and with serial no 403 was listed for auction at Murrumbeena, VIC, on April 7th. I wonder if that is the set in question.

The collector picked this up at the Lions Club Swap meeting at Wangaratta: April

There was no Radio speaker with it, however, I remember a Club member did buy a radio that came with the remains of a Gramaphone horn (cute).

I sent the radio to the collection, since I fixed it ( Sorta instantantly bored with it : next item once I fixed it and was happy with it.).

Memory says that 's the same one. It's in fantatsic condition. No significant case damage and the piece of paper with the voltages & how to connect everything, at the back, where they go (clips) is also in good shape.

The only annoyance is that it looks like someone has circled the dial card where radio stations were & penciled them in. No touchy, part of it's history & a great chance of damageing it. Might be original?

The two valves in it (A409) were around 20% in the VCT-V, but we had a better one and an A415 in better shape as well.

Bibsandbobs....Thanks for feedback

Interesting that another of these has surfaced and both are in really good condition.

You will note I chose not to modify the power supply that I built to run a possible Kellogg that is running three UX 201A's. I merely put in a series diode & bleeder to drop the regulated 5V "A" to 4.3V.

My primary interest (for the collector who has no computer) is to perhaps get a real circuit (without reverse engineering) and also try and verify its actual manufacturer.

That attitude stems from the fact that I fix rather than collect.

Marc

There was Seyon offered at the HRSA auction today. I don't know what model or year but its case was an embossed gold metal box with a lid that lifted off like a cake tin. It looked to be a TRF design and was in excellent condition internally, probably as a result of it being so well sealed.

It didn't reach reserve and was handed in.

The auctioneer said that it was made by Stromberg Carlson. I didn't get a chance to follow up on that as to whether that was an opinion or based on some reliable knowledge.

My point would be that apart from have\ing an American Yale "C" battery in it.

Noyes bros were the agents for Igranian; All the parts with labels including the dial were Igranian and that plant was in Bedford UK

I would be interested to know where "sales department" got its info?
