Hi All

I am chasing a replacement power transformer for my AWA 4 Valve set. (Model 516M)

The one currently in it is showing leakage to chassis on the 240v winding.

From what I can tell is specks are roughly
190 0 190V . 35ma (For HT as per the AORSM Diagram)
6v
5v both unknown but wont be much since it is a 4 valve set with a 5y3GT

It is the type that sits through a hole in the chassis.

I have one here on a chassis I am wrecking for spares. I will test it tomorrow and see if it is able to be put back into service. If so I can let it go for $15 including postage.

Hi Brad

Thanks for the offer, I will take you up on it. I haven't checked out the rest of the radio yet but shouldn't have too much else I need.

I Checked your post reply in another forum about removing the dial pointer. I am sure it will come in handy as the backing for the dial is warped but the glass is very good.

I like this little set. there is just something about it that makes it different from all my other radios that I have.

Hi Brad.

I cleaned up my transformer. It now tests fine. the whole chassis had been sprayed with some type of chemical, Something like wd40 and this had mixed with all the dust, spider webs, cockroaches and whatever else and made a conductive goo. I pulled it all down and cleaned it all off and now tests fine off the chassis. there is no signs of winding breakdown and megger tests show that it is now good.

So the short of it is, I don't need your transformer. Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it!

Dan

G'day Dan,

Sounds good. Sorry for not following this up as promised. Work has taken up lots of my time in the last week or so in many ways and apart from sleep there hasn't been much time to do anything. I am glad you got your transformer going at any rate. Smile
