I just want to test the water regarding a TV I still have (and works OK).
When I say the first Sanyo colour TV I believe that to be the case without knowing it as a fact. I believe it is because I got it in 1974 before colour TV was officially here in 1975.
The model is CTP 7601 and the manufacturer is Sanyo Guthrie.
I haven't used it for years and it sits in my garage. If it is of value to someone great but if not I will dispose of it. I have asked Sanyo if they are interested for historical reasons but they are not.

The Sanyo CTP 7601 is one of the first colour TV models released by Sanyo in Australia in the 1974/75 period along with the CTP 5601 18" and possibly the CTP 8601 26" model (not sure how early this model was released).

Sadly, it probably will not have much value at this stage but it is worth trying to sell it locally for a nominal sum to a possible collector.

The first generation colour TV sets do not seem to have any collectable status at the moment though who knows what the future holds.
