I'm after a scan of the chassis layout label that was pasted inside the back panel of the Astor KQ. Mine's missing chunks from a battery leak, and I'd like to make a repro to finish the restoration.

Thanks. Actually it was your picture which reminded me I hadn't finished my Astor.

If thats a battery leak in a wooden cabinet ? wipe the wood in the area down with cloudy ammonia or some sodium Bi-Carb solution.

I would also be tempted to do that with plastic.

A dry battery leaks out acid, an old dry battery will also leak or sweat out Zinc compounds. I have seen two recently with severe dry battery leak damage. The Zinc compound literally disolves the wood.

The KQ's all tin and plastic, and the leak must have been years ago, so it was just some rust that needed removing.

Likely the battery contributed to the rust, but sounds like you have dealt with the result.
