Hi Everyone,
I'm seeking a couple (2) 6M5 valves for my Kriesler stereo resto project. These are proving a bit hard to find, even Evatco doesn't list anymore. The old ones tend to wear out a little too easily, so I'm after some low use pulls or NOS if at all posible.

Advice for a substitute valve might help too. I was considering useing a pair of 6AQ5's but that requires new smaller sockets which is a headache to do. A substitute with a different pinout but in a noval base would help a lot.

Of course I could probably come up with a sub myself if only I could find data on a 6M5.

Thanks, Michael

Hi Everyone,
Thanks to a few members I've found a likely substitute for this valve in the 6BQ5 or 6CK6 with slight socket rewire.
Thanks again,
Michael

If you cannot get them locally it may be an idea to see if one of the European sites has them? Likely UK as they are in HMV although they used 6BM8 (ECL82) in record players.

Hi MichaelP

I don't know whether you have resolved your problem yet but, here is a link to the data for the 6M5.

http://www.aescomputers.net/Schematics/Data sheets/6M5 data sheet.jpg.

I own the site but have added very little to it so far ..

If anybody else requires valve data I will try to add it to that page ..

There have been comments previously on the 6M5 which might help. Also maybe a source.

Maybe you have the silver migration phenomenon.
