That does not sound right.

In order to confuse we have cable listed with a conductor in square measure and some by its wire diameter. Like at LV I am running 6mm diameter wire from an Automotive Generator (not alternator) to the control box. That will handle over 30 Amps.

It's basically standard I haven't really measured it.

Most flexible cords are 0.75mm2.

This is good for about 5 or 6 amps and well and truly enough for a valve radio.
