I need the external antenna baynet connector to suit 60's AWA Transistor Radios also they fitted the Ferris radios.
I assume they would use a 50 ohm coax. Please let me know if this is incorrect. I thought the baynet end of a small lamp would fit however they are larger in diameter.
Regards Jimb.

I'm trying to picture the connector you are referring to. When it's a bayonet type I usually think of BNC. When you say Ferris do you mean car radios? If so, car radios usually have Motorola type antenna sockets on them.

Hi GTC.
No not BNC or Motorola type.
Picture a small panel lamp globe as used in old car instrument panels the bayonet end is almost exactly the right size unfortunately just a little too large. I need it for the AWA B42 and AWA 208P. The Ferris I was referring to was the car portable it had a 9 volt battery.

I'm looking at the B42 photos on the RM site but cannot see the socket you refer to.

Pretty confident I have seen them on sets. I get the occasional car radio. for repair. May even have a vintage one with one on it? It was a very similar bayonet to some fuse holders.

Thanks GTC and Marcc.
Marcc, now you mention it you are right some of the old metal fuse holders did use them on the top end.

Correct Jimb.
If you are able to find one of the metal in-line 3 AG fuse holders, the short end is a perfect fit.
I believe that I still have a couple around somewhere.
Wayne.

Please post a photo. I still can't recall having seen one -- I don't deal with transistor radios very often.

It might pay to measure & report the diameter?
