Hi VR people.

I have decided to sell the radios I have. They are all found and discussed here in the TechTalk section. I dont have what it takes to restore them, so it is better they go to whom will appreciate them.

I will sell separate if it is called for, but I am hoping to trade all for a current quality model Metal Detector. I don't really want a gold detector. Perhaps someone will have a treasure detector in good condition, or know someone with whom a deal can be made.

The Radios are>

1) an Erres KY557 from 1955 S/W, manufactured by Van der Heem & Bloemsma Ltd, in the Netherlands. 95% complete, not working.

2) an Astor/EIL/Air Chief model RL which is a 6 volt job. The 12 volt version is a model RM.RL61528
5 V. May 1954 (stamped on Transformer). It appears to me to have two ECs, one of which the top is bulged.1 vibrator Valves> 6x4, 6AN7, 6BA6, 6AQ5, 6AV6 (listed on a tiny factory diagram) Looks to be intact and original. Probably GWO.

3) The "Gizmo" A HMV / Smiths Radiomobile type B car radio amplifier. It requires a type 4202 matching control unit. Probably GWO.

4) an AWA Car Radio Chassis No is>E0050020.12v, and the ID> E30020.906A And on the inside a little green licensing label No>125784, Its 95% intact. I explored the VR site, and found information about valve types and the licencing labels from the era. The label for this radio is a small green one produced in the 1950s era. It doesn’t contain the words ‘and Television’. It is a No6, 128784. So I am going to say that it is prior to 1951. So the radio can be dated to between 1941 and 1951. In addition, the valves are Base models, also prior to 1952. Working order, needs full recap.
