Hi Everyone,

I have bought the Hospital Radio/TV, PA system made by Nomis from the Adelaide Children's Hospital.

The original system was up-graded in 1979 with Toa TA-246 Radio/Amps (I am after another one of those as well) and Bogen C-100 amps.

It was originally loaded with Sanyo PAM-60's and am after either the PAM-60 or PAM-30 to display with the unit so can be non working.

Thanks
Josh

That's a massive unit. Must have been fun bringing it home.

Re PAM-60, I see that one sold in Moonee Ponds for $50 in 2016:

Thanks Brad,

Yes I was thankful it was delivered as it weighs aprox. 350kg

I have seen a few Sanyo PA amps come up but not many, see quite a few more Sansui versions for some reason.

Even the Toa TA-246 Radio/Amp of which I am after another one as well not quite as hard to find.

It was probably the most complex setup put in a Hospital before the radio systems were de commissioned.

The 4 Toa's on the top left have TV tuners in them as at the time the wards had 1 ceiling mounted TV each. and the sound for it was switched from the patients bed panel.

They also had more radio stations, 7 eventually including FM ( when SAFM started in 1980 ).

In the original setup they had 7 HIFI tuners and after the upgrade went to the TOA's with inbuilt tuners and with upgrades to the hospital
they needed more power for the PA system which led to the upgrade in 1979.

That saw the PA going from 500w to 1100w.

The whole unit was decommissioned in the last 5 years and was bought by a Prop company who used it in a yet to be released movie.

Probably worth putting saved searches into eBay and Gumtree for the amp.

Those along with quite a few others are searched regularly
