      With this:
 As I suspected.

In reality, I suppose the used IC would be carefully removed from its circuit board, get its pins straightened and be cleaned up. But there's no way to know if it has an internal fault.

GTC you can also get genuine Lucas (Auto electric) smoke as well.
That also reminds me of a post on the American forum with a link to some Goose that had carefully removed the tube envelope & cleaned the glass on the inside & was then trying to flog them on eBay.

I have a feeling that I also put that link here at the time? Hilarious.

      What's the circuit?
I used to replace quite a few STK "IC" modules with LM1865s back in the day.

You can use an LM1865 to replace the entire vertical amplifier in many TVs. Notably Pye T30s, when the original transistors became hard to get. My mum's T30C ran for 20 years with an LM1875 in the vertical, still working until set was lost in a flood.

They are quite a good audio amplifier too. 25 watts at low distortion.

I suppose he also washed off that messy white writing on the outside, too.

These idiots were as FT Barnum basically put, here for our amusement or to be taken. I got an email a few days back showing a ratbag protester with a sign "Stop killing Ducks to make DUCK TAPE".
 They walk among us.

"Stop killing Ducks to make DUCK TAPE"
Was meant to be a joke, surely. If not, the author needs to be inducted.

It can be interpreted two ways.
Was it actually Duct tapes. OR Was it people parading around at a per-arranged event at the swamp: Just for the cameras?
