Depends what you want. Some are unobtainium. There are a variety on ebay.

EM1 is probably made of unobtainium.

You could change the socket to a UX type (or use push-on terminals and sleeving) and use a 6U5. At least you can still get them....

6 pin UX sockets here:

Sorry, somehow missed EM1 in the thread title.
I have some European eyes; will have a look and see if there is an EM1; probably used though.

6U5 needs -22V I think we need the other one with -7V or -8V on grid 6E5 That would involve a change from "P" base to UX6.

I have actually found a NOS one. And I know it works as I have seen pictures of it being tested and the seller is very reputable.

Afraid the valves in question are EM4s.

The pattern you can expect of your new EM1 is shown here:

http://www.magiceyetubes.com/patterns.htm

The substitutions page says that exact substitutes for the EM1 are:
4678, CV2942, ED78, ME6, ME6S, TK606, TV6, and U6-CAT

Tuning indicators are a fascinating subject as can be seen in the link.
The first indicators were meters and more cheaply made meter analogues. The first electronic indicator was the STC Tunograph:

https://www.radiomuseum.org/tubes/tube_tunograph.html

The first of the recognisable eyes was the 6E5, by RCA in 1935.

The EM4 should still fit and work with a few simple changes.

Can supply the EM4 if you like Tallar. Should be able to send a base too.

When I checked, the base was the same. 8 pin side contact.

I suspect you may need to link a couple of pins. If you decide to go that way I can work it out for you.

AFAICS the EM4 can display two different variables using opposite beams rather than the cross-shaped eye of the EM1.
