Hi folks ,
I’m looking for any spare speakers to suit 1960s HMV Bahama stereo record player.
Speakers are 7inch x 4inch in size and rated at 47 ohms.
Thanks in advance.
Scott

rated at 47 ohms

The only time I've come across that sort of impedance is on valve type American office intercoms -- typically 45 ohms.

I know, it’s definitely an odd one. Seems that HMV used odd impediences on their early model solid state units. Hopefully some one can assist. I have 3 of these stereos all needing either one or both speakers replaced.

You'll find that 15 ohm speakers will work just as well. You''ll get a bit more power.

A complementary pair of AC127 - AC128 is quite OK driving 15 ohms, particularly when in heatsinks as these are. I think HMV were being unnecessarily cautious.

15 Ohm Rola

I have a Rola which may do the job.

It's 15 ohm but measures 8" X 4" (20cm X 10cm)

What power are we looking at? I reckon this Rola would be a 5W, rough guess.

Ian mentioned AC 127/128. I would not expect their output would strain this speaker.

If you reckon it will do the job you can have it.

I much rather see it working in a restored record player than used as a spider and cockroach trampoline.
