It's a sad day when we have to sell off our radios to afford electricity!

This bill almost $600.00 The previous bill $120.00 less for the same consumption.

I tried a Market comparison site, and they quoted me a price even higher that the present bill! And with worse conditions.

Done.

I'm also interested in the AWA C87, Airzone 536 and STC 34. ($430)

If you can hold out till this coming Thursday I can pick them up from anywhere and pay cash.

The price of electricity in Australia at the moment is nothing short of a joke. Government policy on this climate change garbage is just using energy as a way of milking various indirect taxes at inflated levels.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

Scrap the provider like I did and the bills were less then half the cost of AGL, they were giving me huge bills for electricity and gas, I could not keep up the cost.
I have no pool, no AC, no heating and still the bills were huge so I changed over to Dodo for electricity and gas and the bils are now less than half what AGl was charging me.
Also be aware that Agl,etc etc let you pay off late bills at 100 per fortnight .so you can do that instead of selling off your Gems.
Pete

Pete is right,

You are forced to shop around nowdays. After years of arrogance and mistreatment from Origin Energy, we switched to Red and our bills fell remarkably.

And they give early payment discount as well.

Finished with Origin forever!

The trouble with selling your stuff to pay a bill is,,What are you going to do next time they bill you?
You will have lost all your beloved things.
Your better to cut a deal with them and pay them off per fortnight. It wont wreck your credit rating because they are still getting paid.
Once you have made the deal, then switch providers and still pay the original provider out per fortnight.
I was at a garage sale last week and the lady was selling her washing machine so she could pay her rent.
She had 3 kids there that I could see and all under 10!
Her life would get even harder with 3 kids and no washing machine.,
Lucky she found anther option.

You can get an extension on the time to pay your electricity bill with Origin. Or you can arrange to pay it in installments.

During the big heatwave we had early this year my power bill was $690. That was with running my airconditioner, which is a necessity in this climate. Here in Richmond NSW we had temps up to 48c. So the choice was burn up in the heat, or pay the bill.

Thanks Vintage Pete, I will look into Dodo for my power. I already get a good deal with them for unlimited NBN.

See if you can come to an arrangment to pay it off. Its just a real shame to have to part with your treasured radios.

I once sold a really nice museum-grade restored Radiostar to a collector in the US to pay vet bills for our cocker spaniel.
