Hi
Looking for a knob for the HQ/HNQ breadloaf Mickey in cream. My latest acquisition arrived with the knob broken.
Im going to attempt repair of the knob, but an original would be better

Thanks for looking.

Red,

Can you provide a picture or drawing?

I have been given a large collection of radio knobs. If I see one that resembles what you are after you can have it.

Oh, you mean the main dial having a crack in it?

Besides that, it's a nice-looking radio.

That's just a random photo for the purpose of illustration. I believe it's the volume knob that Redxm is seeking.

Yes. Thats the volume knob I'm after, in the cream colour. I did manage to repair mine somewhat, but its a bit loose on the shaft.

Thanks for the picture G.

Red, I am currently cataloguing all my vintage components. if I find that knob I'll let you know.

While I'm here, I invite other members to post pictures of any knobs they may be looking for, including TV knobs. I have quite a collection which I will never use in my life time.

Don't want anything for them (except postage) just want genuine restorers to keep their museums going for future generations to admire.

That's a great attitude BBTV.

There are a few out there who like to charge like wounded bulls for radio knobs and/or put them on eBay with the same outcome.

I remember a guy at an HRSA auction some years ago who brought in about 8 jam jars crammed with a variety of knobs. He cleaned up. I asked him afterwards where all the radios are that the knobs came from. He just shrugged. I have never seen him again at any HRSA event.

Totally agree on a photo.

Also incorporate damage, sometimes they can be repaired, but you can only give advice from what you see.

E.G. One thing I have done, with some, is used poorly shrunken heat shrink tube on a shaft, often with grease on it, as the former & filled the centre with epoxy resin, or a putty.

What I ended up doing was to glue the broken inner with loctite, cover the inner with heatshrink and fill with JB Weld. Its a bit loose but I suspect a brass shim will fix it up.
I would , however like to find an undamaged knob.

To Ben and Flakes,

Still sorting, I will yell out if I see those items.
