Located in Thirlmere, NSW, which is near Picton. Postcode 2572.

Rescued this Tasma 1131C during a Council clean-up.

Cabinet is a mess of peeling veneer, but it is structurally sound, and the works appear okay, all vacuum tubes present, but the mains plug has been cut off in accordance with municipal regulations for disposal of electrical devices.

I am a ham, and if no-one comes to save it, I will be pulling this radio apart for bits I can use in other projects.

You have until MONDAY 18 September 2017 to collect it from here.

After that, what I don't salvage gets broken up and put out for collection. The cabinet especially!

No payment is required, but if you have any unused bits of amateur radio gear around, we might do a swap if you wish.

Sounds like it may of got wet perhaps ? Shame , veneers are 200-400 per sheet now.

Pity about the state of it. One of the better looking consoles of its day.

Go on Pete, always room for one more needy orphan. Smile

It looks like its been a bit wet.
Its a real shame we are loosing to many old gems on throw outs etc etc.
But no I cant take it on , I'm still doing the tellie project and its way behind. Just not enough hours left in the day lately to play radios or TVs restorations.
Plus I'm restorestoring some expensive Italian chairs and just finishing up on a Pye radiogram, which I will put on VR in a week or so .

Pete

If nobody takes it I'd be interested in the chassis (the console is too big to fit in my car), or even just the valves.

Thank you all for your responses.

The Tasma is going to a good home with The Rusty Nail.
