Does any one have access to a schematic for this beauty. I do have a Chassis on the way to me. If you look this up on Radiomuseum yes it shows as a console from 1929 but the coffin radio is exact. I would love a schematic to study please.

Hi Carl,

Have a look at the message you sent to me asking for a circuit diagram for a C54 with 6 valves. I have provided a link that I believe will assist. The link also includes circuit diagrams for C55 and C57 models. One a battery model and one an electric model, both covering 7 valves in the chassis if that is what the chassis you are waiting for contains, instead of a six valve model.

Hope this helps.

Very nice finish to the cabinet.

Yes I bought this one as a brumby off ebay nearly 2 years back and thought to hell with it , I would have it professionally done in case I or some one else finds a chassis for it. Well Guess what I located one and its on its way.

Got A question . I have a 1929 Speaker box which has a field coil in it. Will it work with this battery set?.

Not unless you power the field coil separately. You may be able to do that with the B+ supply, but don't try it with a battery unless you only plan to run it for a few minutes at a time - it will chew your B+ battery.

If you could measure the DC resistance of the field coil - most are between 1500 and 2500 ohms - I could suggest a power supply.

A 2500 ohm field coil will draw 40mA at 100v while dissipating 4 watts. My Universal Battery Power Supply could supply close to that.

Whilst they don't like DC you can often use a line transformer, or a proper high impedance speaker transformer (refer to valve data) to get it to 4-8 Ohms; For a small conventional permanent magnet speaker, or provide isolation to couple to another amp.
