Vinylted, if no one can get it, what about dropping it off at an antique shop or something? Surely they'd be interested in something like this? It'd be a tragedy to see this go to the dump.

EDIT: I've sent you an email Ted.

Chris

The General is still up for grabs and I'll be able to hang on to it until the end of Nov.
Any mates or members here in Melbourne able to store it for one of the NSW guys?

I'll be able to give the General a home if no one else is able to take it. If someone else wants to arrange to collect it off me at a later date they are welcome to do so.

I'll email you Vinylted regarding it's collection.

Wow I have just got hold of one of these sets, it's in remarkable condition too, And I too am having trouble with a Seized UHF tuner, I have managed to free it up though, but the dial won't move accordingly, but I did at least get it to tune properly without skipping the teeth inside the tuner!!
I would love to find more TV's like this though my one sat in storage in a sealed box for the last 18 years, guy I got it from worked for the SEC too, Coincidentally, this may have infact came from the same container as the TV pictured in this discussion, It kinda reminds me of a Sears American TV, a fine example of how TV sets Should be made!!

I wonder if issues with the UHF tuner were common to General sets? My General GC-141 suffers from the same problem, and I've heard of several others with similar issues...
