Would anyone either have a schematic (I can build from schematics if available), or know a supplier where I could acquire a 240 volt AC variable supply to run a portable which requires 90 volts DC?
I am not sure of the current requirements to replace the original battery supply to test the radio and see if it even works.
Would anyone know of the original supply current from the original batteries, that would at least be a place to start in my search for the transformer for the purpose.
Thanks!

Hi 2Much2Junk,

I just saw a link for this exact power supply. 90V for HT and 1.5V for the filaments. It should be easy to build, I hope this does the job for you.

Kind regards,
Marc

Thanks Marc, that sounds like exactly what I need!

Pity this forum doesn't have a thanks button, like some othr forums I'm a member of.

Some forum software packages have something similar to a 'thanks button' which works in a similar way to Ebay's feedback system with a slight difference. You vote for or against comments you like and your fellow members develop a reputation based on those votes.

It would have to go on the to-do list which has another eight jobs on it but I think it is a great idea and one worth implementing.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

Thanks Brad!
There's something positive about being able to gauge the usefulness of supplied information based on a hard earned reputation.

Of course, like anything online the system is open to abuse, but I believe this being a site for vintage radio, the members are all mature, and from what I have seen, all respond in a mature respectful manner.

If we knew what it was, had a circuit, or knew what was in it that would be useful info.

Eg I have just un-monkeyed an Airzone 612 Console. The circuit of that actually tells you what it draws, avoiding any speculation and is handy in fault finding.

I did not bother to build a PS for this one, instead I bought a kit & used it.
There are a few modules made for these sets.

The one I used and will also use one of in a National SW5. It is too big for a portable as it is mains. Having said that others may be interested?

This guy is in Wodonga. Rottwest pty ltd. provision.iinet.net.au. (Howard Sheeran). Note, I have, no association with this company nor is this an endorsment.. This is for information only.
