I have had the above model dumped on my bench to fix what seems to be a very noisy wave change switch.

Can anyone point me to a spot where I can find a circuit please.

Try this

It's bigish but it is the genuine AWA doc

Marc,

Many thanks. I had looked at Kevin's site hunting for Hotpoint as had no idea that AWA made Hotpoint and found nothing.

We learn something every day. Had to mess around downloading a new version of Adobe before I could open it. Glad I am on the NBN as downloading only took seconds running . 22Mbps..would possibly been still waiting had I stayed on ADSL.

These are quite nice sets and a VG performer on only a couple of feet of wire for an antenna and under the house as well in a brick enclosure.

Hotpoint was a brand of Australian General Electric Company of Australia Ltd (AGE).

"93 - 95 Clarence Street Sydney, with offices in all states.

BRAND: GE - 1931 to 1934
BRAND: Bandmaster - 1937 on
BRAND: Bandmaster Hotpoint - 1937 on

All radio models between 1931 and the late 1950's were either rebadged or based on AWA models. While the receivers had an AWA chassis the cabinet styling was different to the AWA models."

AWA made stuff for many other brands. It also had an in-house division which operated under the brand Manufacturers Special Products (MSP) for the purpose of supplying the industry with parts. MSP speakers were quite common.

You would be amazed at how much badge engineering went on. EMMCO made parts for others & produced radio's for others.

Pye & Astor similar. A huge number of gangs were made by Stromberg Carlson.

Not sure what Mica caps are in that but the open types and rectangular black ones marked AWA, virtually never fail. I only test them for leakage . 500V if one end is out of circuit, when tossing out dud resistors & paper caps.
