I have recently acquired a Kriesler Twin-Fi to restore. There is no model no. sticker on this set, but I believe the Twin-Fi is a 1955 vintage model - with the model no likely to be 11-50.

Could somebody confirm for me that this is indeed the model number. Secondly, if it is a model 11-50 then could somebody help me out with a copy of the circuit.

Cheers

Rob

G'day Rob,

I have the schematic for the 11-55 which maybe the 'Twin-Fi' as it has two speakers in parallel, and it was released in 1955.

The valve lineup is 6AN7, 6N8, 6BD7, 6AQ5 and 6V4.

If you could give me your email address, I'll send the circuit onto you.

Cheers, Graham...

Hi Graham,

You have helped me out before! Thanks again for your kind offer of the circuit.

Your suggested valve lineup is what I see in this set alright. Visual inspection shows that the two speakers are just wired in parallel - nothing special there.

My email is rob.wilcox1.bigpond.com

Cheers

Be careful with that model, despite there being a handle arrangement in the back panel. Do not lift it by that. Both of the ones I serviced recently had cracking, one to the point where the top over the top of the output tube; required repair.

One of the ones I had, which was exhibiting strange behaviour, had shorted the dial light cable to an RF valve screen resistor. Check the condition of the wire & lead dress. The other one was a typical Kriesler in that it had an open circuit Output transformer.

Get rid of the paper caps & electrolytics & it will probably go, also check resistors as you go....saves hassles later.

Marc
