Hi, I have a Tasma Baby 1001 and it is fitted with a permanent magnet speaker and 2k Ohm resistor in lieu of an electro speaker and field coil . This appears to be from the factory and is on the schematics as an alternative to an electro speaker.

My radio is missing the speaker and output transformer. At the point where the speaker should be and mounted on two short phenolic strips are the 2k Ohm resistor, a 14 mF electro capacitor a small 0.1 μF cap and a 50,000 Ohm resistor.

My question is what were the two phenolic strips originally mounted to, the back of the speaker somewhere? I would like to keep the restore as close to original as possible and that's why I ask. I searched the internet for pictures but couldn't find any showing the resistor.

Could someone explain it or If someone has a similar set with the resistor fitted could you email a picture to me please so I can duplicate it. My email is open.

Thanks everyone in advance.

The Baby 1005 had a PM speaker.

Brilliant! Thanks Garyoz. There are photos of the resistor and it's mounting on the provided link.

I didn't think to look for later models. Cheers Smile
