I've been pulling my hair out with this one. Does anyone have a schematic for an AWA 46E Chassis C93 ? Someone has been into it and I am not sure how close the resistor values are to those in a 55E as it is VERY similar, or what value some of the caps are.

Thanks,
Lindsey.

Schematic can be downloaded from here: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/amalgamate_radiola_46e_ch_c92.html

(Limited quantity downloads are allowed to non-members)

Unfortunately, that is not it. That is the Junior C87, having only one stage of RF before the detector stage. Mine has two stages before the detector stage. They ARE very similar. Mine is more like the Duoforte 55E (modified) using valves in this order, 58, 58, 75, 46, and 80. It's funny because the chassis is marked the same as the C87 where the valves are, but there is no sign that the sockets have been changed and the rivets look original with no sign of any tampering. I suspect it was a transitional chassis at the end of one design and the beginning of another.

I am no radio technician, and I know there are some in this forum who could look at it and read it like I read a newspaper without needing a schematic. I have to learn, though.

Some of the resistors and caps I know will be the same as the 55E, but things like bias resistors may be different. Since this radio has been worked on, some of the values in may have been changed as well since some resistors have been changed. I have traced parts of the circuits out and have noted some differences, modifying my 55E schematic with notes of what I find.

One of my big headaches on this set is the panel assembly holding the resistors and three capacitors. Often when I think I have it figured out, I see I have made an error. It sits in there like an octopus with tentacles going everywhere.

I'll see if I can upload my schematic notes.

Thanks,
Lindsey

Hmmm, needs to be followed up by Stuart who made that entry on Radiomuseum.

Yeah, I did add that model to Radiomuseum.org but I didn't upload the circuit diagrams. I'll let the uploader know of the error. Thanks for letting me know.

Cheers, Stuart

I hope that drawing jogs a memory for someone. That is my revision 1. I'll be replacing all but the mica caps as the rest are pretty much terrible looking. Of course, all electrolytic caps will be replaced.

Brad,
Thanks for doing that for me.. I guess it was too big, sorry. Would a drawing like that be better sent in PDF next time?

Small trap for the unwary & I have seen a couple of examples. If it fails to run it may have a link pin that needs to be inserted, when its not using a turntable: Often these are missing.

Circuit diagrams are usually converted to PDF just for convenience. When zoomed in, the format retains sharpness so that text is easier to read. I don't mind how they come to me.
