G'day all.
A mate of mine recently acquired a vintage Mick Simmons Oceanic console radio which looks to be from the late 30s or 40s and he wants to have it operational again and I've been searching Google and the Radio Museum site but came up with nothing, only site which has an example of a chassis that might be the same as his was on Patrick Turner's radio restoration site on this page http://www.turneraudio.com.au/Radio-re-engineering.html.
Anyhow I am in need of schematics for this radio and was wondering if anyone here has any or knows of anyone who has or even knows if the chassis is common to other brand chassis which schematics are available for? Any help would be much appreciated.

Some pictures uploaded and the valve line up would be very helpful in establishing the parentage of this radio.

Agree: Lets look at the photo's & the valves in it and see if we can establish country of origin? I say that as it is an Odd ball set. The fact that it has an Aussie plug on it, does not mean its 240V, unless its written / has a / plate on it.
I have a set here where I believe it has had 240V AC applied and had a 240V plug. It is clear on its ID plate that it is 110V: An accident just going to happen.
Even that they are hard to get, I will put a 3 pin NEMA plug on the 110V stuff, to ensure that there are no "Senior Moments" that see it plugged into 240V.

I have sent a pic to the site email address to be added to this thread so it will be on there once the moderator has added it. It's only a front view of the radio, I will get my mate to take more photos of it.

The Oceanic was the house brand for major Sydney radio retailer Mick Simmons. A generic set with Mick Simmons own brand.
It would of most likely been made by someone else. A picture & a valve line up may give some clues.

major Sydney radio retailer Mick Simmons
Mick Simmons was and is mainly a sports equipment store. Probably got into radio as a sideline as many retailers did back in the day.

Mick Simmons started off as a tobacconist at George St. around 1879. Branched out into sporting equipment & by the mid 1920's radio retail. Various advertisements in Trove Newspapers & mentions in the Mingay's Radio Trade Annuals suggest that Mick Simmons was hugely prominent in the Sydney radio retail trade.

There's lots of Mick Simmons ads in Radio and Hobbies. Years ago when I first noticed them I didn't realise it was the same firm, though now thinking about it, the logo is very similar. They've moved a few times, most recently because of the tramway construction on George Street.

I got my first cricket bat and footy boots from Mick Simmons. Pretty sure my old man did, too.
