Hi everybody , would anyone on the site have a copy of "Directions for Use for the Philips Universal Measuring Bridge "Philoscope II" GM 4144/01" ?
Or an English version of the service and calibration manual?

Hi Joseph,
If you do a search, (Yahoo Google etc), with "Philips GM 4144 manual", you will find several sources of info.
One good source is http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/philips/gm4144/ but the doc needs the djvu viewer to display it, and is in Dutch.
And another source is via my shakey memory as I have one of these units with manual somewhere on the ranch if I can find it.
Will get back to you tomorrow, or when I can find it in the next day or so.
Cheers, Graham...
EDIT: Joseph,
I have a document on my HD which I can mail to you if you unhide your email address.
To do this, enter Your Profile at the top of this page and make your address viewable.
Let me know when you have done this and I'll mail it to you.
This Doc is in PDF format.
Cheers again, G...

Ok, , I've unhid my email address I think, sorry for the late response, off to Italy on the weekend for 6 weeks and have left everything to the last minute,, would be very grateful I you have an English service manual, I have a Dutch one but sadly I can't decipher the language.
I am only a novice starting out learning about valves, I haven't played with electronics for about 30 years and threw my entire stock of everything in the tip, (don't ask), I've got a bit of the interest creeping up and I'm really interested in valves and valve tech.
Cheers
Joseph

I have had a look for this on my laptop but can't find it, either the file or the email I sent that GTC mentions. Will fire up my old banger which I took offline when XP support finished later in the day and see if it can be found.
Failing that will rescan.

Should be in your email by now.
Was on my laptop; file structure now a little tortured after my fourth computer.

Thanks guys I got an English version from Graham,
BTW I met a guy on Sunday he is going to sell me a valve tester with the manual and an old PA amp, he as a few boxes of old valves that I might buy just to practice testing, he was selling an old restored radio at the flea market, he said he had a small mountain of old chassis and he was an old repairman and was getting rid of a lot of his stuff,,,, but I don't think I'll get to see him until I get back from OS in about 6 weeks time.
Cheers
Joseph
