Hi folks,
I have a hotpoint N35DG radiogram that needs a replacement 6BV7 valve.
Is there a direct replacement?
Cheers
Scott

6BV7's are available from the HRSA in both new and used forms. Perhaps a nearby HSRA member can assist you, otherwise let me know.

Last time I checked, when I was restoring an AWA TV that used one, I found they were pretty much impossible to source. You might luck on a 2nd hand one but it's likely to have issues.

The one I had, although down to about 50% emission and getter, having been cooked by a gone-low cathode resistor, still worked OK so I left it.

You could use a 6BQ5 or a 6M5 but I found the 6GV8 could be used with the least wiring changes, strangely, and it's readily available and much cheaper.
If you need the diodes, you could wire the triode to perform this function. Otherwise, wiring the triode as an amplifier ahead of the pentode would give you more audio gain, something that sets using the 6BV7 by itself were deficient in.

As per post #3 above, 6BV7s are in stock in the HRSA Valve Bank, which is one of the benefits of membership.
