I just pasted the thumb into Word and it came back as Segoe UI Symbol (an installed font in Windows 10). Websites are funny things - I'm not sure how other fonts manage to find their way in when the declared font is Arial. When I look at Edge's HTML code viewer there is no formatting code showing. The showing of these characters is probably just a feature of modern web browsers. I doubt these would show up on IE6/Netscape/Camino and previous.
