I am fixing a 1957 Astor model DSJ and need a circuit to fix a rolling fault.

The TV is for the Marilyn Monroe exhibition in Bendigo starting Saturday.

I believe member 803 TV Collector has a similar circuit, if he could make contact please.

Bob

I've emailed you a circuit but I'll upload the full service manual here if you or anyone else needs it.

There are four variants of the DSJ with the later 3 having the suffix A, B or C which was stamped with ink on the chassis. There are circuit / part differences between all four versions.

Let us know how you go with getting your set going for the exhibition. Nice to know an early set will be used as a working exhibit.

Could we see some photos of the Astor?
Chassis shots if possible.
Thanks

Wayne.

A lot of 6BL8's, like for video amp/cathode-follower that has some clever feedback to screen grid?

If anyone is wondering about the little Astor, there is a happy ending. The set had a loss of vertical sync caused by a 22M resistor going open circuit near the sync separator.

Bob has kindly sent some photos which I'm including with this post.

Nice! Lots of shielding around the tube neck.

Looks like a 6CM5, 6AL3/6R3 and 1S2 at top right, and a pair of 6N3's next to the transformer at lower right.
