Marcc,

re my AK 35:

I have applied a signal at about 600kHz, plus tone, to the grid of the 3rd Rf amp, nothing through it. All connections and coils look Ok and different valves tried in there. Voltages check Ok.

For a simple radio it is giving me the heebie jeebies.

See pdf's on antique radio forum USA. There is a method for synchronizing the tuning gangs.

This I think is part of the problem, if not the problem. If you change parts in the RF section, they can throw it off frequency & many manufacturers state that.

OK Marcc, thanks.
I was hoping to avoid that, it was set up when I got it, but someone had obviously been in there before.

Anything, where someone has been there before needs checking, especially before you plug it in.

With new parts & "them" who knows where the calibration is? Once RF parts have been replaced, the choice is clear............
