Hello all, I am a new boy and have just purchased an old Kriesler Bakelite Radiogram, I think it's a 11-25 model ?. The unit seems to be in fair condition generally. The turn table operates well but I can't get sound. No sound from the radio either. I am fairly practical but certainly no "radio head" it may just be the speaker, I don't know, therefore I was hoping that a club member may be able to head me in the direction of some technical help in the Sydney area as I would really like to get this old timer going and enjoy dads old 78's.

If you were in Brisbane I could have helped you out. You could always remove the chassis and send it to me Smile-
Cheers
Rudy

Thank's Rudy, much appreciated. I'll get back to you if no Sydney options emerge.
Regards
Tim.

Tyranny of distance also applies.
Going by one of these I repaired April 2008 It will probably need all of the paper & electrolytic capacitors replacing.
I have found about two good papers, in the last eighty radios I have fixed. Mains & Audio transformers need checking. Krieslers seem to have a bad habit of killing output transformers.
Check the whole thing for needles. There were about fifty in the one I serviced and one of them killed the rectifier valve.

Regards
Marc
