For those whom repair turntables and may need an aged idler wheel rebuilt.
Try the following U.S company www.terrysrubberrollers.com
email t.e.witt.juno.com
Contact name Terry Witt.

Often it is better to have an idler wheel rebuilt rather than using an NOS wheel which may have hardened whilst in storage.

Cheers, Simplex

Thanks for the handy information, I have an old Stromberg Carlson radiogram which I removed the turntable from, and have been searching for an idler to restore the unit to original.

Here is a trick used by vintage motorcycle restorers.

Fully imerse ruber parts in a mixture of Oil of Wintergreen (chemist- about $7.00 for a small bottle) with 20% Xylene (Bunnings -$17.00 litre). Place in sealed container - not plastic, for 2 to 4 days.

Will not fix dents but will soften rubber. Works for tape recorder capstains too.
